Byrne Mech is seeking an experienced Senior Production Planner to join our growing manufacturing team in Athenry. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating production schedules, managing capacity planning, and ensuring customer delivery commitments are achieved efficiently. This position works closely with Operations, Production, Purchasing, and Sales to maintain smooth workflow across multiple manufacturing cells. Key Responsibilities Create and maintain production schedules across multiple manufacturing cells using the company ERP system Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure customer requirements and delivery timelines are met Support the Operations Leadership Team in reviewing capacity, identifying constraints, and improving planning processes Identify opportunities for system and process improvements and lead implementation initiatives Determine and manage finished goods inventory levels, including pack sizes and safety stock requirements Coordinate delivery commitments for sales orders based on material availability and production capacity Work closely with Production teams to execute daily and weekly production plans Monitor schedule performance and adjust plans as required to maintain operational efficiency Experience & Skills Minimum 2 years’ experience in a production planning or scheduling role Strong experience using ERP systems and MRP planning (essential) Experience within a small to medium manufacturing environment preferred Proven ability to support or implement new planning processes Experience managing Non-Stock Items (NSI) desirable Intermediate to advanced Excel skills Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve planning conflicts effectively Self-motivated with a proactive, problem-solving mindset Candidates must be currently residing in Ireland with a valid work permit or legal right to work.
