Essential Requirements

Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician, Heavy Plant Mechanic, or Plant Fitter
Full Irish Driving Licence
Strong diagnostic, servicing, and repair experience on HGVs and/or heavy plant machinery
Ability to work independently while maintaining high safety and compliance standards
Reliable, proactive, and committed to delivering quality workmanship
About the Role

At Tower Civil Engineering, our projects depend on a large and hard-working fleet of vehicles and plant equipment. We are looking for an experienced HGV / Heavy Plant Mechanic to play a key role in keeping our fleet safe, compliant, and operational.

This is a hands-on position where you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting a diverse range of HGVs, tippers, grab lorries, and civil engineering plant machinery. Your expertise will help minimise downtime and ensure our equipment remains ready to support projects across the business.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs

Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance on HGVs and plant equipment
Perform mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical repairs as required
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with manufacturer recommendations
Diagnostics & Fault Finding

Use modern diagnostic equipment to identify faults quickly and accurately
Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently to minimise operational downtime
Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
Vehicle Inspections & Compliance

Conduct regular vehicle and plant inspections
Prepare HGVs for annual CVRT testing and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
Promote and maintain the highest standards of safety within the workshop and fleet operations
