This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.


We are currently offering a placement for an Assistant BIM technician.  Training will be provided to bring the successful participant to the the level of a Certified Autodesk User in both Revit and AutoCAD and the participant will be given the opportunity to sit this exam once their training is complete.  The WPEP participant  will have the opportunity to learn new skills which can then be applied practically in industry.
Day to day tasks will include shadowing an experienced technician in carrying out their duties and replicating these basic tasks on smaller projects.  Experience will be given in areas such as 3D modelling, co-ordination, clash detection, attending meetings (as an observer), learning about meeting etiquette, experience of working in a busy office and learning how to work under a quality controlled environment (ISO9001).  
An assigned mentor will guide you through your work experience ensuring you get adequate exposure to all aspects of the industry over the course of the 6 month placement.

 
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.  

Formal Training:
AutoCAD (40hrs)
Revit (40hrs)- both to the level of Autodesk Certified User.
All training is certified by Autodesk.
Excel Training - 24 hours - Certified.
