Duties
This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
This role involves working as part of a dedicated and experienced team to maintain the gardens and nature trails in our busy visitor Eco-centre. It is an interesting and varied role, involving physical and manual work outdoors all year round. Flexibility is needed, as well as an interest in gardening and organic horticulture. Duties: - Preparing seed beds - Digging, sowing and harvesting a wide variety of vegetables, fruit and legumes - Watering plants in polytunnels, plant beds and vegetable patches - Maintenance of lawns and common areas - Use of gardening power tools, e.g. lawnmower, strimmer, hedge trimmer - Comply with correct procedures and protocols for organic certification - Correct use of compost and manure - Weeding and clearing areas as needed.
