Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. 

To support the operation of the Community Bus Service by assisting the driver and ensuring that members of the community, particularly older people and those with mobility or social support needs, can access safe, reliable and friendly transport.

Main Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Answer phone calls and assist with booking enquiries and general information. 
• Help passengers safely on and off the bus, including those with mobility needs. 
• Provide friendly support and reassurance to passengers during journeys. 
• Assist the driver with passenger coordination and daily route organisation. 
• Take notes and maintain simple records of bookings, passenger numbers, and daily activities. 
• Ensure the bus environment is welcoming and tidy. 
• Promote a respectful and inclusive atmosphere for all service users.
