Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

We are seeking an individual to join our team as a Community Sports Grounds Keeper. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of our community sports grounds, ensuring they are safe, well-groomed, and ready for use by athletes and the community. Your primary focus will be on maintaining the playing surfaces, grounds, and associated facilities to a high standard.

Responsibilities:

Grounds Maintenance:

Perform regular maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, and fertilising the playing surfaces.
Maintain healthy turf.
Apply appropriate weed control measures to keep the grounds in optimal condition.
Maintain and repair irrigation systems and drainage systems as needed.

Field Preparation:

Ensure field conditions are safe and meet the requirements of the specific sports being played.
Manage turf repairs, overseeding, and turf renovation to maintain quality playing surfaces.

Facility Maintenance:

Minor maintenance and repair of sports equipment.
Perform minor maintenance tasks on facilities such as fencing, seating areas, and lighting systems.
Keep storage areas organised and well-maintained, ensuring equipment is properly stored and maintained.

Safety and Compliance:

Regularly inspect the grounds for potential hazards or issues and address them promptly.
Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with other staff members, coaches, and event organisers to ensure the smooth operation of sports activities.

Have an interest in community and sports. Other training will be provided.
