Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Duties include:
- Help supervise and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.
-Provide a caring, supportive, and inclusive environment where children feel valued.
- Help organise and facilitate age-appropriate activities (arts & crafts, games, homework support, outdoor play).
-Encourage positive behaviour and help children develop social skills.
-Support children with homework and provide guidance where needed.
-Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment.
-Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding children’s progress, concerns, or incidents.
-Follow all policies and procedures, including child protection, health & safety, and safeguarding guidelines.
-Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development as required.
-Report any concerns about children’s welfare to the designated person in charge.
