We are seeking experienced, motivated and reliable HGV Mechanics to join our vehicle maintenance team. The successful candidates will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications, Irish road safety legislation and Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Test (CVRT) standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults in HGVs. Perform routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance. Repair engines, transmissions, brakes, clutches, suspension and steering systems. Inspect, prepare and maintain heavy goods vehicles to meet CVRT requirements. Carry out emergency repairs and breakdown diagnostics where required. Replace defective parts using approved workshop procedures. Complete maintenance records accurately. Use diagnostic equipment safely. Maintain a clean and safe workshop. Work independently and within a team.
Experience Required
Minimum 3 years' relevant experience as an HGV, Commercial Vehicle or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic. Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle systems. Ability to interpret technical manuals. Experience using diagnostic equipment.
Skills Required
Mechanical troubleshooting. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and within a team. Sufficient English communication skills to understand workshop instructions, health and safety procedures and communicate effectively with colleagues. Education / Qualifications Recognised qualification (Certificate, Diploma or equivalent) in Motor Mechanics, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or a related mechanical trade. Opportunities for overtime.
