This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process. 


The participant will have the opportunity to gain practical work experience and develop skills across the day-to-day operations of a storage, removals and container modification business.
Under supervision, the participant will learn about the processes involved in shipping container modifications, including the preparation of materials, basic fabrication techniques, fitting components such as doors and windows, insulation, painting and finishing work, and the safe use of hand and power tools.

The placement will provide exposure to self-storage operations, including preparing storage units for customers, maintaining a clean and organised yard environment, learning about stock and equipment management, and observing container handling and delivery procedures.

The participant will also gain experience in the removals side of the business, learning about packing and wrapping techniques, safe manual handling practices, loading and unloading procedures, vehicle and equipment preparation, and customer service standards for domestic and commercial moves.
