Intellectual Disability Nurse – South Dublin

3Q Recruitment is hiring an Intellectual Disability Nurse to support adults with intellectual disabilities in residential, day and community-based services in South Dublin.

This is a front-line role within a structured environment, focused on delivering high-quality patient care, promoting independence, and supporting overall wellbeing.

The Role
You will provide person-centred nursing care, ensure the health, safety and dignity of service users while working collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, patient-centred nursing care to adults with intellectual disabilities
Support individuals with personal care, daily living and health needs
Develop, implement and review individual care plans
Administer medication in line with best practice and clinical guidelines
Monitor health and wellbeing and report any concerns appropriately
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
Follow infection control, hygiene and safeguarding procedures
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external healthcare providers
Promote independence, wellbeing, and inclusion of service users
Requirements
Registered Nurse (RNID) with active registration with NMBI
Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities
Strong clinical, communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and patient safety standards
Ability to work effectively in a structured, compliance-driven environment
Legal right to work in Ireland
Garda Vetting is mandatory for relevant roles
International Police Clearance is required where a candidate has lived or worked outside Ireland for 6 months or more since the age of 16
Driving licence and access to transport desirable
