Hours: 40hrs/wk Required Qualifications FETAC Level 5 or equivalent Key Responsibilities Ensuring all children receive a high standard of care and early years education at all times. Effectively communicate with parents (AM/PM) regarding their child’s progress (medication, dietary needs, daily report). Support the maintenance of children's records of development and learning and assist keyworkers in keeping learning journals fully and accurately updated. Ensure regular planning meetings take place to ensure that rich and stimulating activities are planned, prepared and supervised in line with Síolta, the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education, Aistear, the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework and in accordance with the children’s social, emotional, physical, language and intellectual needs. Support the effective implementation of the keyworker procedures and assist keyworkers in carrying out their responsibilities. Provide supervision, guidance and support to playroom staff to enable them to establish and maintain positive working relationships. Support staff in understanding and following the crèche’s Policies and Procedures for safeguarding children, child protection and behaviour management. To be aware of children’s special educational needs and support staff in promoting good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion. Promote and monitor health, safety and cleanliness within the playroom and report concerns to management when required. Implement all health and safety policy and procedures. Be very familiar with medical, emergency and security procedures. Support and supervise playroom staff with their day-to-day duties. Support and mentor staff and students. Develop open and positive working relationships with staff. Proactively represent the Company and advance its interests in the local community. Promote the crèche to current parents and potential customers. Ensure that all staff develop and maintain friendly and professional relationships with parents and carers. Co-operate with the Crèche Management Team during inspections and support the implementation of agreed operational practices relevant to the playroom. Promote the crèche in an enthusiastic manner to parents and prospective customers. Adhere to all Company policies on diversity and equal opportunities are adhered to. Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by line management.
