Right Group is seeking an experienced Senior Instrumentation Technician - Water & Wastewater to join our team in Castleisland, Co. Kerry, working across Kerry and Munster.

We are looking for an Instrumentation Technician with hands-on experience calibrating, commissioning and fault-finding process instrumentation and analysers on water or wastewater treatment plants. This is not a general electrical role. We need someone who understands the instruments that measure and control the water treatment process, and who can take an instrument from installation, through calibration and commissioning, to a fully proven and documented system.

THE ROLE
You will work on water and wastewater treatment infrastructure throughout Kerry and Munster, responsible for the installation, calibration, commissioning and fault-finding of process instrumentation, including chlorine and residual chlorine analysers, pH, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, suspended solids, ammonia, flow, level, pressure and temperature.

Duties include:
- Routine and commissioning calibration of process instruments
- Configuring instrument ranges, scaling and outputs
- Verifying 4-20 mA, digital and communication signals
- Loop checks from field instrument through to PLC/SCADA
- Instrument verification and proving
- Investigating inaccurate, unstable or failed measurements
- Producing calibration certificates and commissioning records
- Diagnosing whether a fault is the instrument, installation, cabling, process or control system

Flow and level technologies include electromagnetic flowmeters, ultrasonic level, radar level, hydrostatic and submersible level, pressure transmitters and open-channel flow.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years hands-on instrumentation experience
- Direct water or wastewater experience
- Proven experience calibrating process instrumentation
- Hands-on experience with water and wastewater analysers
- Strong understanding of 4-20 mA instrumentation
- Experience carrying out loop checks and commissioning
- Ability to read P&IDs, loop drawings and instrument schedules
- Experience fault-finding instrumentation connected to PLC/SCADA
- Full driving licence
- Safe Pass

DESIRABLE
- Experience with VFDs
- Experience with Hach, Endress+Hauser, ABB, Siemens or VEGA equipment

REMUNERATION AND CONDITIONS
Employer: Right Group
Minimum annual remuneration: EUR 60,000 per annum
Salary range: EUR 60,000 to EUR 70,000 per annum depending on experience
Hours of work: 39 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Location of employment: Island Point, Castleisland Business Park, Tralee Road, Castleisland, Co. Kerry, V92 E894, with work carried out at client sites across Kerry and Munster.
