Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.



Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. 

Youghal Family Resource Initiative has a vacancy for a Temporary After-School Care Assistant to cover a period of sick leave.

The successful candidate will work as part of the childcare team and will be responsible for supporting the Room Leader in providing a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for children.

Duties will include:

Preparing and assisting activities for the children.
Supporting the Room Leader during snack time.
Supervising and participating in outdoor play and activities.
Encouraging children’s social, emotional and creative development.
Helping to ensure that all children feel safe, supported and welcome.
Assisting with the day-to-day running of the after-school service.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience in childcare and working with children in a supportive community environment.

Hours: 19.5 hours per week
