Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.



Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. 

Duties to include:
Work directly with young people on various project programmes e.g. creative, sport, educational, etc. 
Organise and set up the activity areas (including project equipment) for group programmes i.e. kitchen area for food and activities, the hall and/or other rooms as required. 
Prepare food and refreshments each evening as required.
Assist the leader in charge, volunteers and/or support tutors each evening with the group programmes. 
Support members in carrying out various tasks, programmes and activities. 
Engage with all members in order to develop a trusting relationship with them. 
Take part in training offered. 
Assist in additional activities during school holidays i.e. mid-term, Christmas, Easter and Summer. From time to time activities may also take place over a weekend and may include a residential. Fully mentored and supported by Youth Work Team.
