A Pastry & Cookie Chef is responsible for preparing and producing a wide range of high-quality pastries, cookies, cakes, desserts, and other baked products according to established recipes and presentation standards. The role includes preparing doughs, batters, creams, fillings, icings, and decorations, as well as baking and finishing products with consistency and attention to detail. The Pastry & Cookie Chef is responsible for maintaining product quality, freshness, portion control, and attractive presentation while ensuring all ingredients are measured and handled correctly. They must maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work area and follow all food safety and HACCP procedures. The role also involves managing ingredients and stock levels, minimising waste, checking the quality of raw materials, and maintaining baking equipment. Key skills include excellent baking and pastry-making techniques, creativity, attention to detail, good time management, organisation, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. The ideal candidate should have a passion for pastry and baking, strong teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality products while meeting production deadlines.
