Naughtons Car Dismantlers Ltd is looking for a reliable and experienced General Operative / Machinery Operator to join our vehicle recycling team.

This is a hands-on yard-based position and would ideally suit someone with previous experience operating forklifts, diggers/excavators, material handlers or other heavy machinery.
The role will involve processing end-of-life vehicles, crushing vehicle shells, separating and recovering metals and other recyclable materials, and operating machinery safely and efficiently around our recycling facility.
Previous experience in the motor industry is not essential. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong machinery operating experience who are comfortable working in a busy outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities
•	Operating forklifts, diggers/excavators and other yard machinery.
•	Crushing and processing vehicle shells.
•	Moving and handling vehicles safely around the yard.
•	Separating and recovering metals and other recyclable materials from vehicles.
•	Sorting materials into the appropriate recycling streams.
•	Loading, moving and organising recyclable materials.
•	Assisting with the general processing of end-of-life vehicles.
•	Carrying out basic daily checks on machinery and reporting any faults.
•	Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe.
•	Following all company health & safety and environmental procedures.
•	Assisting with other general yard duties as required.

Key Requirements
•	Previous forklift, digger/excavator, material handler or similar machinery operating experience.
•	Experience working in recycling, construction, quarrying, plant hire or a similar environment would be an advantage.
•	Comfortable working with heavy machinery and vehicles.
•	Good awareness of health & safety when operating machinery.
•	Reliable, practical and able to work independently.
•	Ability to work as part of a team.
•	Full driving licence preferred.
•	Relevant machinery tickets/certification would be an advantage.
