Avoncourt Packaging Ltd is seeking a Junior Thermoforming Process Technician to join our manufacturing team.

This is a technical manufacturing position suitable for a candidate with a qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical discipline.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced technical, engineering and production personnel and will receive practical training in thermoforming equipment, process control, machine setup, troubleshooting and manufacturing systems.

Previous professional experience in thermoforming is desirable but not essential, as appropriate training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:
The Junior Thermoforming Process Technician will:
Assist with the technical setup, adjustment and changeover of thermoforming machinery and associated production equipment.
Monitor manufacturing process parameters and machine performance to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
Assist experienced technicians with identifying and troubleshooting mechanical and process-related equipment faults.
Assist with technical investigation of production issues and product defects.
Support preventative and routine maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment.
Learn and assist with tooling and mould changes and associated machine setup.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, machine documentation, technical specifications and production requirements.
Assist with troubleshooting and monitoring automated and PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment.
Carry out technical quality-control checks and assist with identifying the root causes of manufacturing defects.
Record relevant machine settings, process parameters, technical interventions and production information.
Assist engineering and technical personnel with machine modifications and continuous-improvement projects.
Support initiatives aimed at reducing machine downtime, manufacturing waste and production defects.
Work closely with engineering, maintenance, quality and production personnel to maintain safe and efficient manufacturing operations.
Comply with company quality, food-safety, environmental and health-and-safety procedures.
Undertake technical training in thermoforming machinery, manufacturing processes and associated equipment.

Requirements:
A qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation Engineering or another relevant technical/engineering discipline.
Good mechanical and technical aptitude.
Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and equipment documentation.
Understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing equipment.
Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of an engineering and manufacturing team.
Good communication and organisational skills.
