Galway Regional Youth Federation CLG T/A Youth Work Ireland, Galway, seeks a Social Care Worker , to join the Youth Diversion Project (YDP) team based in Ballinasloe, Galway.

The Role:
The Social Care Worker  works with young people to address youth issues and anti-social behaviour. The Social Care Worker is tasked with diverting young people from anti-social behaviour and other youth issues, supporting young people to remain in or return to education and increase their employment potential. Programmes are delivered mostly on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.

Key Responsibilities:
Liaise with families, other relevant agencies and attend meetings as appropriate. 
Ensure compliance with the requirements of the funder and supervise staff and budgets. 
Maintain required project documentation and produce reports that comply with the policies and procedures of the establishment and the Operational Guidelines for the projects.

Qualifications & Experience: 
3rd level qualification (Level 7 Ordinary Bachelor’s Degree  [180 ECTS credits] or above) in youth work or community work, youth justice, social care, counselling, or another appropriate field.
Minimum of 2 year’s experience working with teens in a community setting. Skills in one-to-one work, group work and case management would be an advantage.
Excellent IT skills and report writing experience are needed. 
Clean driving licence and access to a vehicle for work is necessary..

Salary & Working hours: 
€37,713 per annum based on a 35-hour week. Must be available for flexible shifts including out-of-school hours, evenings with some weekend work.

Successful shortlisted candidates will be subject to interview, reference check, and Garda vetting prior to contracts being offered.
