Nightingale Health & Homecare Providers Ltd. is recruiting a full-time Healthcare Assistant to provide professional home care and personal support to clients in their own homes across Cork City and surrounding suburbs.

The successful applicant will provide person-centred care in accordance with individual care plans and company policies.

Main duties include assisting clients with personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, toileting, continence care, mobility and transfers. The role also includes assistance with meals, hydration, companionship, social support and activities of daily living while promoting dignity, independence and choice.

The Healthcare Assistant will support older people and clients with dementia, reduced mobility or other care needs. They will observe clients' general wellbeing and report any concerns or changes in condition to the appropriate member of the care management team.

Other duties include maintaining accurate care records, following infection prevention and control procedures, safeguarding clients, maintaining confidentiality and communicating appropriately with clients, families and healthcare professionals.

Applicants should hold a QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support or an equivalent recognised health or social care qualification and have relevant healthcare or home care experience.

Good spoken and written English, effective communication skills, reliability and the ability to work independently and as part of a care team are required.

Applicants must be flexible to work rostered shifts, including some evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays where required.

A full Category B driving licence and access to transport are desirable where travel between clients is required.

Successful applicants will be subject to Garda Vetting, reference checks and verification of qualifications.

Permanent full-time position, 39 hours per week.

Minimum annual remuneration is €33,462 based on a basic rate of €16.50 per hour. Enhanced rates may apply for eligible weekend, Sunday and Bank Holiday shifts.

Location of employment is Cork City and surrounding Cork suburbs, with care provided primarily in clients' own homes.
