This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.
Óir Tonics is seeking a motivated and reliable person to join our team through the WPEP scheme in a Manufacturing Production and Procurement Assistant role based in Ennis. The placement will provide hands-on experience across production planning, procurement, purchasing and stock management within our growing health and wellness business. The successful candidate will work closely with our Warehouse Manager and Operations Manager and will gain an understanding of how production, purchasing and inventory work together. Key areas of the role will include assisting with production planning, ordering raw materials and packaging, communicating with suppliers, tracking deliveries, monitoring stock levels, carrying out stock checks and maintaining accurate records. The role will involve a combination of practical warehouse and production work along with computer-based administration using systems such as Excel, Xero and Shopify. Training and mentoring will be provided in our processes and procedures, with opportunities to develop skills in HACCP, health and safety and, where required, forklift operation. Previous production or procurement experience is not essential. We are looking for someone with a good attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn. This placement is an opportunity to gain valuable practical experience and develop skills for future employment in production, procurement, purchasing, stock control, supply chain or operations.
This is a training and work-experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is required. Accredited and/or sector-recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module, which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP The participant will receive formal and informal training in the following areas: Formal Training: • Microsoft Excel and company systems, including Xero and Shopify • HACCP, food safety and traceability procedures • Health and safety, including manual handling • Forklift operation training, where required • Quality control and company procedures Informal Training: • Production planning and scheduling • Manufacturing and production processes • Procurement and purchasing • Supplier communication and order management • Stock control and inventory management • Warehouse operations and goods receiving • Planning, organisation and time management • Problem solving and day-to-day operational decision making • Workplace communication and teamwork
