Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. 

Working as part of a dedicated team, you will assist us in maintaining our beautiful and scenic villages in Donacarney and Mornington clean and tidy.

Duties include:
- Follow a weekly schedule of litter picking along the roads in the area
- Flower bed maintenance - planting, weeding and watering
- Clearing weeds along footpaths and walls
- Strimming hedges and banks
- Cleaning and painting of pillar fountains, planters and other street furniture
- Keeping pathways clean and clear
- Assist with the separation of waste and safe storage at designated locations for collection by Meath County Council staff
- Regular weeding and maintenance of the Church grounds and community centre carpark
- Safe use and storage of all tools and equipment
- Report all incidents to Tidy Towns Committee
- Planting trees and bulbs
- Assist team with preparation for Tidy Towns competitions and Pride of Place Awards

This position is based in Donacarney, Co. Meath
Full training and support is provided.  Applicants need to be flexible and willing to learn.  This is a varied role involving outdoor manual work all year round.
