Position: 5-Axis CNC Machine Setter / Operator
Company: N & E Precision Engineering
Location: Longford, Ireland
Salary: €38 to €42K / annum
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Reporting to: Production Manager

About the Role
N & E Precision Engineering is seeking an experienced 5-Axis CNC Machine Setter / Operator to join our precision engineering team in Longford.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, proving out and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture high-precision components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
The role will involve working with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining, with previous CNC programming experience being a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities
•	Set up and operate CNC milling machines, including 3-, 4-, and 5-axis equipment.
•	Prepare tooling, workholding, offsets and machine settings.
•	Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T requirements.
•	Program, edit and prove out CNC programs where required.
•	Manufacture precision components to the required quality standards.
•	Carry out first-off and in-process dimensional inspections using appropriate measuring equipment.
•	Make authorised program and offset adjustments where required.
•	Maintain accurate setup sheets, tooling lists and production documentation.
•	Identify and report machine, tooling or quality issues.
•	Maintain CNC machines and the working area in a clean, safe and organised condition.
•	Work closely with Production, Quality and Maintenance teams.
•	Follow all company health and safety and quality procedures.
Requirements
•	Previous experience as a CNC Setter / Operator in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
•	Experience with CNC milling and 4- or 5-axis machining.
•	Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
•	Experience with dimensional inspection and precision measuring equipment.
•	Good understanding of CNC tooling, offsets and machine setup.
•	CNC programming experience is a significant advantage.
•	Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
•	Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Hours
The successful candidate may be required to work either:
•	Day Shift: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
•	Evening Shift: 4:30 pm – 1:00 am
Shift allocation will depend on operational requirements.
