This placement will provide the participant with practical work experience and training in the day-to-day operation of a busy e-commerce dispatch and warehouse environment with Agridirect in Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan.

The participant will gain experience across the full online order fulfilment process, from receiving an online customer order through to picking, packing and preparing the order for courier collection.

During the placement, the participant will gain practical experience in:
•	Processing and preparing online customer orders
•	Picking products accurately from warehouse locations
•	Packing and labelling parcels for dispatch
•	Using e-commerce, warehouse and order-processing systems
•	Preparing orders for courier collection
•	Receiving incoming stock and checking deliveries
•	Putting stock away and maintaining organised warehouse locations
•	Stock checking and basic stock control procedures
•	Understanding the importance of order accuracy and customer service
•	Safe working practices within a warehouse environment
•	Working as part of an e-commerce and warehouse team

The participant will receive training and supervision throughout the placement and will have the opportunity to develop practical skills in e-commerce fulfilment, warehousing, stock control, dispatch procedures and workplace organisation.

No previous warehouse or e-commerce experience is required. The placement would suit someone who is interested in developing skills and experience in e-commerce, logistics, warehousing or retail operations.
 

The participant will receive on-the-job training and ongoing supervision in the following areas:

Accredited Training Plan: Forklift Training - 16 hrs
                                           Ladder Training 4 hrs
General Training : Training on Wave OMS warehouse picking system 20 hrs
                             Product Training 20hrs
                             Warehouse management training 20 hrs
•	E-commerce order processing: Training in how online customer orders are received, processed and prepared for fulfilment.
•	Order picking: Training in locating products within the warehouse, using picking information correctly and ensuring the correct product and quantity are selected.
•	Packing and dispatch: Training in appropriate packing methods, selecting suitable packaging, labelling parcels and preparing orders for collection by our delivery partners including DPD and An Post.
•	Warehouse and stock management: Training in receiving deliveries, checking incoming goods, putting stock into the correct warehouse locations and maintaining accurate and organised stock locations.
•	Warehouse systems and technology: Practical training in the use of our order processing, stock management and warehouse systems, including handheld scanning equipment where applicable.
•	Stock control: Training in carrying out stock checks, identifying discrepancies and understanding the importance of accurate stock records within an e-commerce business.
•	Health & Safety: Training in safe working practices within a warehouse environment, including safe manual handling, correct lifting techniques and maintaining clear and safe working areas.
•	Workplace organisation: Training in maintaining an efficient picking, packing and dispatch area and understanding how good warehouse organisation contributes to faster and more accurate order fulfilment.
•	Customer service and order accuracy: Training in the importance of checking orders before dispatch, recognising potential order issues and understanding how accurate and timely dispatch affects the overall customer experience.

The participant will work alongside experienced members of the Agridirect team and will receive ongoing guidance, feedback and support throughout the placement. The aim of the training is to provide the participant with transferable skills and practical experience that can support future employment in e-commerce, warehousing, logistics, fulfilment or retail operations.
