Intercars Garage Ltd is seeking an experienced and skilled Spray Painter to carry out professional vehicle preparation, paint application, refinishing, and finishing work at their business at Riverside Industrial Estate, Tuam Road, Co. Galway The successful candidate will be responsible for restoring vehicle bodywork to a high-quality finish in accordance with manufacturer standards and company procedures. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Inspect vehicle bodywork and assess areas requiring preparation, repair, priming, painting, and refinishing. • Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling, masking, and priming damaged or repaired areas. • Mix and prepare paints, primers, fillers, hardeners, and other refinishing materials according to manufacturer specifications. • Match paint colours accurately using colour codes, paint systems, and colour-matching techniques. • Apply primer, basecoat, clearcoat, and other automotive coatings using spray guns and related equipment. • Carry out spot repairs, panel refinishing, blending, and full vehicle or component resprays as required. • Ensure painted surfaces are smooth, even, and free from defects such as runs, dust, orange peel, or colour mismatch. • Carry out polishing, buffing, and final finishing of painted surfaces. • Inspect completed work and identify and rectify any paint or finish defects. • Work closely with vehicle body repair technicians and other garage staff to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to the required standard. Required Skills and Experience • A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience as a Spray painter essential Remuneration is €36,605 per annum based on 39 hours per week.
