Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.



Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. 

Ensure the supervision of children at all times for school drop off and collections, during indoor and outdoor play and transitions, and supervising meal times.
Support children with homework, and planning of age- appropriate activities in a fun, stimulating environment, under the Aistear framework.
Support children’s individual needs, and foster an inclusive environment where all children are welcomed and encouraged.
Build positive relationships with parents and guardians
Observe child protection, safety and welfare at all times, recognising your responsibility to report any concerns as a mandated person.
Maintain daily records, such as attendance registers, cleaning rosters and so on.
