Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Laois Partnership Company Laois Services to Elderly People (LSTEP) Established 2008 LSTEP undertakes basic household repairs and maintenance for older people in Laois who are unable to do such work themselves. This service includes gardening, bin runs, installation of handrails, and personal alarms under the Senior Alert Scheme, painting, clear outs etc. The scheme is run under the aegis of Laois Partnership Company and is supported by the Department of Rural & Community Development under the Community Services Programme. Laois Services to the Elderly are seeking to recruit a Part-Time Repair and Maintenance CE Workers LSTEP work in conjunction with residents’ committees, statutory agencies, community and voluntary organisations and other partners to deliver a quality and affordable service to its clients. Requirements:  Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department of Social Protection. An understanding of the issues faced by older people.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility in working hours.  Competence in a range of DIY skills.  Full clean drivers’ licence would be an advantage.  Garda Vetting is essential. Duties:  Liaising with manager regarding clients’ needs.  Carrying out minor repairs, installations and decorating  Stores Management  Gardening and maintenance of outdoor green areas.
