Veterinary Practitioner and Surgeon

Job Title: Veterinary Practitioner and Surgeon
Employer: Mr. Cathal Roche
Location: Duiske Veterinary Centre, Main Street, Graiguenamanagh, County Kilkenny, Ireland
Salary: €40,000 per annum plus expenses, including accommodation
Hours: Full-time, 39 hours per week (Monday–Sunday, as per roster)

Job Description:
Duiske Veterinary Centre is seeking a qualified and dedicated Veterinary Practitioner and Surgeon to join our practice. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive veterinary medical and surgical services within the clinic and through out-call visits to farms and clients as required.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Clinical examination & diagnosis of small and large animals

Treatment & medical management of a wide range of conditions

Performing surgical procedures, including routine and emergency surgeries

Providing emergency care and critical support as required

Conducting diagnostic imaging & laboratory work, including radiography, ultrasonography, blood analysis, and sample testing

Client communication & education, providing professional advice on animal health and welfare

Maintaining accurate veterinary records

Participating in on-call, weekend, and roster-based duties

Indoor and outdoor work, including farm visits

Requirements:

Must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI)

Proven experience as a Veterinary Practitioner and Surgeon

Strong diagnostic, surgical, and emergency care skills

Experience with diagnostic imaging and laboratory testing

Good communication and teamwork abilities
