The Department of Political Science in the School of Social Sciences and Philosophy invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Political Science, with a start date of 3rd August 2026. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality teaching, research, and administrative activities within the department, supporting its mission to provide an outstanding academic experience for students.

Post status: 5 Year Fixed Term Tenure-Track

Salary: This appointment will be made on the Assistant Professor Merged Salary Scale (€42,925- €102,556 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)

5.	Writing sample. Applicants are asked to submit one writing sample that best represents their scholarly work to date. This may be a published article, a dissertation chapter, a working paper, or a work-in-progress. We recognise that early-career scholars are at different stages of the publication process; therefore, unpublished or developing work is fully welcomed. The writing sample should demonstrate the applicant’s research potential, methodological rigour, and contribution to their field of study.
