Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

Groundsperson duties include:
Pitches and surrounding areas to be cut when required.
Grass verges and borders in car park and on avenue to be cut regularly. 
Spraying of weeds along kerbs on drive way, car park and footpaths.
Strimming of all areas. 
Brushing of drive way: keep gully/grates clear of leaves particularly in autumn/winter.
Footpaths to be cleaned/brushed 2-3 times per year.
Machinery shed to be kept tidy.
Grounds to be kept litter free and bins emptied regularly.
Rubbish left on pitches to be removed.  
Any playing items/clothing/gear left on pitch to be removed and stored in the clubhouse.
Keep boundary and fencing from becoming overgrown.
Report any damage/repairs needed to the grounds chairperson.
Opening up and locking up grounds daily.
Lining, flagging and marking three pitches (one juvenile and two full size)
Pulling across ball-stop nets as required, taking account of weather conditions; this is essential when weather is forecasted to be windy.
Preparing pitches for juvenile games at weekend.  This involves putting up and securing temporary posts for small sided games as well as lining out and flagging pitches.
Removing and safely storing posts when juvenile games are completed.
Ensuring all equipment used in games is taken and stored correctly after games and training sessions. 
Any other duties that may be required in relation to the duties of the position.
