We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Drape Maker to design and manufacture specialist theatrical drapes for events and venues. This role demands a comprehensive technical and design understanding of fabric, stitching, and drapery design within the Events and Theatre industries. The candidate must have a deep understanding of visual design and be able to take direction from the Head of Department. A high level of technical sewing and manufacturing skills is required, and the candidate must be able to work on their own initiative as well as take direction. An ability to read technical design drawings is a must.

The ideal candidate should have:
o	Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in the drapery industry, with a proven technical background in fabric handling, sewing, and installation.
o	Ability to interpret architectural drawings and design specifications, translating them into actionable drapery solutions.
o	Technician level knowledge of sewing machines, tools, equipment, and drapery-specific techniques.
o	Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to drapery installations, fabric handling, and machinery.
o	Ability to take direction and follow instructions from the Head of Department.
o	Ability to work closely with designers, and clients to provide expert advice on fabric choices, drapery functionality, and aesthetic considerations.
o	Able to interpret floor/design plans to establish measurements.
o	Knowledge of theatre drape rigging systems and installation.
o	Knowledge of industrial sewing machines and overlockers, industrial steam press, eyelet gromet press, pattern drafting and upholstery.
