The Commis Chef is responsible for assisting with the preparation and production of food within the kitchen or bakery, ensuring that all products are prepared to the highest standards of quality, consistency, presentation, and food safety. The role involves supporting senior chefs, following recipes and instructions accurately, and developing the skills and knowledge required to progress within the culinary profession.

The Commis Chef maintains a clean, organised, and hygienic work area, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations. Responsibilities include assisting with stock control, minimising waste through effective stock rotation practices, and reporting any shortages, quality concerns, or operational issues to senior team members.

Working closely with colleagues across all sections, the Commis Chef contributes to the smooth operation of the kitchen or bakery, communicates effectively with the team, and supports service and production requirements as needed. The role also involves assisting with food preparation, learning new techniques, and maintaining strict quality standards at all times.

The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, a positive attitude, and a commitment to Bread 41's values and culture. They will contribute to a respectful and collaborative working environment, arrive punctually for scheduled shifts, and be willing to support other areas of the operation when required. Previous experience in a professional kitchen or bakery environment is desirable. This is a full-time position based on a 39-hour working week.
