Moylough Concrete Products Ltd is a manufacturer of precast concrete elements. We are seeking a qualified and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our engineering department. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring maximum operational uptime of our heavy industrial manufacturing plant. You will execute routine preventative maintenance, diagnose complex faults, and perform mechanical and electrical repairs on heavy-duty concrete production machinery. Key Responsibilities: - Equipment Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults on industrial machinery, including concrete batching plants, automated casting beds, mixers, and overhead gantry cranes. - Preventative Maintenance (PM): Execute the plant's scheduled PM program to minimize production downtime and prolong the lifespan of heavy capital equipment. - Component Overhaul: Repair and replace faulty industrial components such as heavy-duty pumps, gearboxes, conveyor belts, bearings, hydraulic rams, and pneumatic valves. - Electrical Control Systems: Read and interpret electrical schematics to safely diagnose faults within industrial control panels, motors, switches, and basic PLC systems. - Emergency Breakdown Response: Respond rapidly to live production line breakdowns, implementing safe and effective mechanical or electrical fixes to restore operational flow. - Documentation & Logs: Accurate log all completed maintenance tasks, parts used, and machine calibrations within the company's maintenance management software. - Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance operations comply with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety protocols and Irish Health and Safety Authority (HSA) regulations. Required Qualifications & Skills: - Education/Certification: National Craft Certificate (or international equivalent / apprenticeship) in Industrial Electrical, - Mechanical Automation, Maintenance Fitting, or Mechatronics. - Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a maintenance technician in a heavy manufacturing, quarrying, mining, or automated processing environment. - Technical Knowledge: Strong dual-skilled capability (mechanical and electrical), with intermediate knowledge of industrial hydraulics and pneumatic systems. - Schematic Interpretation: Excellent ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and electrical circuit schematics.
