In this role, you will localise, edit, quality-check and publish content for the Japanese market, with a primary focus on Japanese-language content and Japan-market content. The role involves localising English-language content into Japanese, editing and creating Japanese-language content, performing linguistic and editorial quality assurance, and developing content relevant to the Japanese market. Where required, the role also supports Chinese-language content and other multilingual content initiatives. Localise and adapt English-language content for the Japanese market, ensuring natural and accurate Japanese and alignment with Japanese language conventions and cultural context. Create, edit, and quality-check Japanese-language content for digital platforms and Japan-market content initiatives. Create and edit market-relevant content for Japan , including Japanese calendars, seasonal content, cultural content, and other locally relevant content. Support Chinese-language content and other multilingual localisation initiatives where required. Perform linguistic and editorial quality assurance (QA) to ensure content meets quality, consistency, and platform requirements. Research, source, and edit visual assets to support editorial and localised content as required. Manage, organise, and publish content through internal content management systems. Collaborate with global teams and relevant partners to deliver high-quality Japanese- market content in a timely manner. Apply editorial judgement to ensure content is appropriate for Japanese audiences. Monitor cultural trends, notable events, holidays, and seasonal topics relevant to the Japanese market and apply these insights to content creation and localisation. At least 5 years of professional experience in the media industry, with relevant experience in content editing or multilingual content environments. Japanese and Chinese at advanced or native-level proficiency, with excellent Japanese and Chinese writing and editing skills. Experience in linguistic quality assurance. Ability to localise and adapt English-language content naturally and accurately for the Japanese market, taking into account Japanese language conventions, cultural context, and audience expectations. Ability to manage multiple content, localisation, and quality assurance tasks concurrently. Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Experience in online research and evaluating content quality and relevance. Awareness of cultural trends, notable events, holidays, and seasonal content relevant to the Japanese market. Understanding of digital content, editorial, and localisation best practices, with basic knowledge of HTML, markup, and content tags. Basic proficiency in Adobe Photoshop for editing and preparing visual assets. Experience using content management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
